This condo was everything we wanted and needed for our trip to Maui. The bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom and washer/dryer were great. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed to make a number of great meals (I do mean EVERYTHING). The dining area almost seemed redundant as we ate all of our meals out on the Lanai. There is a TV but we rarely had time to use it. Best of all, it was quiet. No loud partiers or rude neighbors here.
Lihei is a great town to visit and everyone was incredibly kind. We could spend the entire time here just swimming and snorkeling at the beach (where there are a family of huge sea turtles). It is also a near-perfect launching point for anywhere on the island. From here we drove the Hana Highway, the road to the crater was easily accessible, Lahaina was close enough for a day trip, and we drove the Northwestern portion of the island and came back in the same day (do this drive and check out the Dragon’s Teeth and the Nakalele Blowhole).
The best part was having access to the latest edition (as of this writing, the 7th) of the great guidebook “Maui Revealed”. Everything we did came from this book. A huge resource that every guest should take advantage of.
Some things to consider when you stay here:
-The floor is stone tile which makes it easier to clean and sweep (sand). Bring some comfortable sandals to wear in the condo or the hard floor will wear your legs out more than hiking.
-The no AC was tricky to deal with but far from a deal breaker. If there is a good breeze it is great. At night, to keep the condo cool, we left a window open a bit in the bedroom and put the giant fan 4-6′ away from the sliding screen door and aimed it outside. This pulls cooler outside air into the bedroom without a loud fan in there with you.
A great condo and if and when we return we hope this same location is available.

Amazing condo! Perfect location! walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants. Perfectly stocked with everything you need to cook with as well as everything for the beach. I can’t wait to come back to Maui and I will be staying here again!

Condo is very well appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with lots of utensils, pots, pans, etc. The location was also great and we were able to walk to meals very easily, plus the beach is right across the street.
We were pretty warm the first night and the owner, Diane, was very helpful in getting us an additional fan. We had no other issues, but I have no doubts that she would have been very helpful in resolving them if we did.

What a gorgeous condo with a kitchen that will allow you to prepare all your meals: good pans, plenty of dishes, sharp knives, and even a waffle maker.
The king size bed was super comfy. There’s a partial ocean view from the balcony.
Our favorite part was walking 1 block to the beach, eating pastries from the Maui bread co, going to the natural grocery store, and getting Thai food at Maui Thai Bistro all within a few blocks. Would go back in a heartbeat!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Diane’s lovely condo for 5 days to celebrate our 7 year anniversary in Maui. Prior to my booking, Diane was very helpful with all of my questions and processing payment for the reservation. A week before arriving, Diane sent over check in directons and everything was thorough and accessing the condo was easy. This condo is conveniently located at the Kihei Alii Kai on the 3rd floor with a lovely partial view of the ocean. The best thing about this condo is that you are right across the street from the beach! There are multiple shopping plazas right outside the complex with many places for food and groceries. We did not have a car during our stay, but with where the condo is located, you don’t really need one. We rented mopeds that are in 2 plazas next door whenever we did need to travel further. The furniture throughout the house was updated and comfy. There is Tv’s in both the room and living room. The TV in the living room is a smart tv but I had trouble connecting to the wifi through it. The condo is also well equipped with appliances, cups, bowls, plates anything you name it. We slept on the sleeper sofa some of the nights just so we have a view out the Lanai and it was quite comfy. I would say this location is great, you are in a good area to be able to walk from place to place, Wailea is literally 5 minutes away, and of course the beach. The reason that i’ve given the rating of 4 stars instead of 5 is that this condo does not have A/C. Although there are fans throughout the condo, having centralized air would have been nice to have on a vacation getaway.

This condo was absolutely perfect. It is conveniently located in South Kihei. The complex is clean and well maintained. It’s a very quiet building. This is the second time I have stayed at the Alii Kai and it’s been great both time. Diane’s condo is so well equipped. There was nothing missing. I was traveling by myself this time and felt completely safe. The condo is renovated beautifully, the furniture on the Lanai is excellent and very comfortable. I rarely turned the tv on and spent most of my time either eating meals on the Lanai or sitting in the comfy chairs reading a book. It was an excellent vacation and I will book this suite again in the future.

This was our second visit to Kihei and to this particular condo, and as was our first visit this was fantastic. The condo as others mention has everything needed to make yourself at home. It has been beautifully updated and lacks for nothing. The close proximity to the 3 Kams means you do not need to get in the car if you do not want to, although you should so that you can explore all of the beach’s. Coffee on the Lanai in the morning and wine in the evening watching the sunset! Owner contact and care is above and beyond and very thorough and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Stayed for 1 week end of Nov. Arrival was smooth, no problems accessing keys. Once inside, condo just like the pictures, even better. Just as mentioned in previous reviews, well stocked and equipped unit for a great holiday.
Very close walk to the beach with nice beach chairs/cooler and boogie boards. Nice and quiet and a comfy bed. Nicely redone bathroom as well.
Quality appliances and furniture.
Spacious lanai with good table and chairs.
The only thing was the gritty dusty tiled floor which I am assuming was from the windy afternoons coming in through the lanai doors.
Nice amenities such as the hot tub, sauna and pool which was a little cool but refreshing. 2 tennis courts. Much easier to play on less windy days though!
The beaches in the area were really nice and the water very clear. Mornings were great for snorkeling and swimming. The sand is very fine and soft. For people who jog or walk it has long sidewalks and the beach for doing both.
A person who has stair climbing problems or knee problems may have issues as there are a fair number of stairs to climb even though it has elevators. Would recommend this property.

My husband and I stayed in the amazing condo for two weeks and we cannot say enough great things about it. The location was fantastic, the condo was supplied with everything anyone could ever need or want for a vacation and it was a quick three minute walk to the beach, great restaurants and shopping. The owners were so accommodating for anything we asked or needed. Would definitely stay here again.

This condo is amazing! The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and basic items. The complex is nice and clean, pool area is nice. Perfect location with shops, restaurants and cafes and a quick walk to the beach. We could see the sunset and whales from the lanai in the unit.
Absolutely would recommend this unit to anyone going to Kihei, and cannot wait to stay here again in the future!

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary last week. We didn’t want to come home! We loved the location! We decided not to rent a car on our trip because we were only staying 4 full days, an we still found plenty of things to do within walking distance. The condo was very clean and well decorated! We didn’t do much cooking there, but the other reviews are true – everything you need is provided. We really enjoyed sitting on the lanai for meals and sunsets. We spent most of the time swimming in the ocean, but the pool was great too! Working with Diane was great. She even called to check in on us during our stay – very sweet. We hope to return in the next few years!

This condo has everything that you need. The kitchen was well-appointed with plenty of items and appliances for cooking. The furniture was updated and very comfortable. There are restaurants close by, so cooking isn’t a requirement! The condo was very clean and well-organized. We have stayed in several different condos in the Kihei area, but this one was the best because of attention to detail and location. We would definitely hope to secure this one again. The owners were easy to work with and very helpful.

Like the other reviewers said, this condo is great! Spacious, airy, bright and clean. The complex is well located, quiet and well maintained. We were also impressed that everything you might need was available. All you truly have to bring are your clothes and food! Diane and Gordon, thanks for opening up your home to us and for making our first time as VRBO renters a great experience. We hope to return again someday.

We had a wonderful stay here! The condo really is beautiful and updated. We were very impressed with how well stocked the condo was, Diane really has thought of everything!! It is a very short distance off the main road (1 min walk) but enough to get away from the noise of cars and was very peaceful! The pool and bbq area were great, and we found the other owners that we met very friendly and helpful. We also really like the area of Kihei that the condo was located, close enough to easily walk to/from dinners and the beach. I plan to return to Maui and I would DEFINITELY stay at this condo again:) Thanks so much Diane!!

From the time I first approached Diane ( before the trip) I was already impressed with Diane’s promptness and courtesy. She responded to my emails quickly and worked with me to find out another payment alternative ( Paypal) as we live in Australia.
About the condo: clearly well maintained, neat, clean, tastefully decorated, exceptional kitchen (with all the essential appliances, brilliant location. It truly felt like home!

What a pleasant place to stay in!!! It’s a home, a modern & clean one, of a couple and they share it with us. You’ll find anything you need here. I was bracing myself for another crappy place after my encounter with a first rental in Waikiki ( We had to clean dishes, windows, mirrors, basically the whole apt before we can sit down and there was not a single jar of anything in the cupboard, even salt!!! We had to buy salt & peppers & bottle opener). And to my huge relief once I opened the front door, everything was perfectly clean. My kids opened every drawers to check things out and exclaimed “Why didn’t we come here first!” It is so nice to come back after a day of activities and feel just like home. It’s also very close to the beach, a really soft golden sandy beach!!! Thank you very much D&G. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat.

My husband and I had a fabulous time in Maui and enjoyed your beautiful condo located just steps away from one of the nicest beaches. What can I say; the condo was well appointed, super clean and stocked with everything you would need to have a wonderful holiday – right from small kitchen appliances to hair blowers. The tile flooring is beautiful. I can’t imagine having a condo carpeted with all the sand that you bring from the beach, and the Lanai – I never realized just how important one is! This lanai is very large with super comfortable lounging chairs and designer table and chairs to enjoy every meal at. (we never ate one of our meals indoors!) The view of the beach is amazing from the Lanai, everything was so perfect and peaceful; right from the start when Diane called to ensure we had everything we needed to the note left by the lady who provides the cleaning service. We have since recommend this property to a number of friends and will definitely stay again next time we are in Maui. I’ve read the other reviews and think that each of us has hit the mark when we say that this condo and working with Diane was fantastic! Thank you for helping to make our trip to Maui one of the best vacations we have had!

This condo exceeded our expectations. It’s extremely clean and well stocked with all the amenities needed for a Hawaiian vacation (boogies boards, beach towels, chairs, cooler, etc.). The remodel was very well done, tasteful, high quality, very comfortable – loved the walk in shower, laundry, and drying racks. We saw a ground floor condo in the same building and there’s no comparison to this place. This condo is located on the third floor (maybe not the best for very young children), which makes for great breezes and allows you to keep the screen door open at night. The view from the lanai is nice and because the condo is a block from Kihei Road there’s very little noise. We especially liked the kitchen and the little extras left by previous visitors in the fridge and cupboards. It great not having to buy things like olive oil, spices, ketchup, etc. The king size bed and the sofa-sleeper were very comfortable. We enjoyed the internet radio, Netflix, and free wifi – the instructions were very well written and easy to follow. The binder Diane and Gordon put together is wonderful, highly recommend you read it as it contains all the information on the condo, complex, and surrounding area including restaurant recommendations and menus. Diane was great to work with, easy to reach and was available anytime for questions. They have a well-stocked library with books on Maui; Maui Revealed is a must read before and during your trip. The local beaches (Kamaole I/II) were great for lounging, swimming, and snorkeling. We saw lots of sea turtles from shore and also snorkeling in this area. Go to the beach early as the wind really picks up in the afternoon. The pool area is nice and well maintained as is the BBQ area.
Other tips – go to Costco when you arrive and stock up on basics and Hawaiian specialties/gifts, like chocolate macadamia nuts, books on Hawaii, leis, etc. Also, Costco gas is the cheapest on the island. We shopped at Safeway on Pi’Ikea for smaller items. Hilo Hattie’s is a great place for all your trinkets and souvenirs – you can find some similar stuff at ABC Stores, one located right around the corner. Whalers general store on S. Kihei Road is a great place for all sorts of things, including post cards, souvenirs, and grocery items. The prices are pretty reasonable.
We have recommended this condo to all our friends and can’t wait to stay again. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful condo! Loaded with new luxury furnishings and squeaky clean! We had great sleeps in the new and comfortable king bed and were amazed with the kitchen fully equipped with every high-end gadget you need. Designer patio furniture on the lanai made it very easy to enjoy the beautiful ocean view, gentle breezes and gorgeous sunsets (and a little soft music!) Best of quality towels, linens, dishes, etc. Location Location location! Closer than a block walk to the most beautiful beach, which is joined to beach 2 and 3. Enjoyable to walk all three! Snorkeling at the beach and walking distance to restaurants, little shops, boat rentals (paddle boating and kayaking), the dive shop and a park. I would rate this beautiful condo 10/10. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in the right place. This was like home but rather than snow, we were in paradise. My husband and I played a game to see what could possibly be missing. There was nothing. Even if we had brought a grandchild, there was a portable bed to accommodate the little person. But this was made for the two of us. Every appliance and utensil to whip up a gourmet meal was supplied. We dined by candlelight on the lanai each evening. Company and friends – no problem. The dining room table seats six and the extra large lanai has seating for guests in comfort.
Steps to everything you need and oh those beaches – Kam I,II and III. We walked the three beaches each morning, returned to our latte machine and made waffles for breakfast. (Yes everything you need is right here in the unit). In the evening we sat with wine on the lanai and watched the sun go down.
How many places would have Pandora Internet radio? Create your own station by inputting you favorite artist and have it as background music through out the day or soft music for dining. There are two TV’s in case you need ‘space’. There is a selection of movies and blue ray DVD. We watched the free Netflix when we wanted a late night movie.
Don’t worry about paper products, tin foil or plastic wrap. It’s all here. They have even supply rechargeable batteries for all things ‘techy’. If you have the inclination to phone home – it’s all free – as well as wireless internet.
We had the opportunity to see a few other units in the complex.

We went in October 2010 for a friends wedding. Everyone was having a hard time booking their condos. I had never been to Hawaii before and didnt know what towns were there and the location to the beaches. When we walked into the condo were in LOVE! The place is amazing!!! The picture do not do it justice. Our entire group was jealous of how nice our condo was! During our 8 night stay I cant even count how many times we all commented on how we wanted to come back and stay there. The pool area and BBQ was a perfect spot for dinner and everyone we met in the complex was great. The owner of the condo were very nice and called to check in on us the first night we got there. Perfect vacation!

This condo is squeaky clean, recently updated with high end finishes, tastefully and comfortably decorated and it’s in the best location. You can walk to the beach in 2 minutes and to numerous restaurants and shops. The bed is comfortable with nice sheets and there are thick towels in the bathroom. Diane has beach chairs and towels, a cooler, sunscreen, shampoo, etc. and the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would ever need. The couch is comfortable (hooray for not having to sit on one of those awful bamboo couches that make your back hurt!) And the best part is the big patio and the view down to the ocean – perfect for having a glass of wine and watching the sun go down.
We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

I just wanted you to know that we just loved your condo. Not only was it remodeled and furnished beautifully, the way you stocked your unit was incredible. We rented 2 other condos for our complete vacation. Yours by far was the best. The extra mile that you have went to stock the unit made our vacation so much easier. The beach stuff, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper and paper towels ( more than just a couple of rolls) tons of laundry soap and my favorite…..cleaning supplies. We would love to rent your condo again and I will definitely refer your unit to others as well.
